ABOUT
Hello, my name is Lavrentis, and I am originally from Greece. My photographic practice exists at the intersection of fine art, fashion, portraiture, and commercial image-making. Drawing inspiration from the Renaissance, I am deeply influenced by the masterful orchestration of light and shadow that defined that era. This sensitivity to chiaroscuro remains central to my work, where I aim to capture depth, atmosphere, and emotional presence — echoing the dramatic and painterly qualities found in classical compositions.
While studio and fashion work form a significant part of my practice, I am equally drawn to smaller, more intimate projects in street and landscape photography. These bodies of work allow me to explore spontaneity and stillness in equal measure. Whether navigating the rhythm of a city street or observing the quiet vastness of a natural landscape, I am interested in moments that feel unconstructed yet visually intentional. The contrast between structured image-making and observational photography continually informs and strengthens my visual language.
Alongside my photographic practice, I am actively engaged in teaching and academic development. I design and deliver workshops and educational programmes focused on visual storytelling, technical precision, and critical engagement with the image. My approach to education mirrors my artistic philosophy: an emphasis on light, narrative structure, and conceptual clarity. Teaching is not separate from my practice — it is an extension of it, allowing dialogue, mentorship, and the cultivation of emerging visual voices.
In addition to creating and teaching, I am also involved in gallery ownership and curatorial direction. Through this platform, I aim to support contemporary visual culture, create exhibition opportunities, and foster collaboration between artists, students, and institutions. The gallery functions as both a cultural space and an educational environment, bridging practice, theory, and public engagement.
Photography, for me, is not limited to image production. It is a dialogue between creation, education, and curation — a continuous exploration of how light, form, and narrative shape the way we see and understand the world.
